Anthony Watson joined SUNY Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center (MEOC) in August
of 2015. As the Executive Director of MEOC, he has been responsible for the overall operations
of the agency and oversees all departments; which also resulted in strategies that align
comprehensive services for over 2,500constituents in and out of the community. He has been
a senior leader with nearly 20years of expertise in advocacy, development, performance and
talent management.
Watson has been known as a driving force behind developing Workforce Development programs
and has nearly two decades of experience overseeing and managing high impact
youth and adult programs. His development efforts, over the years, have been instrumental
in raising over $6million to support programs and services that impact New York City, as a
whole.
He graduated with a Masters of Social Work from Hunter College of the City University of New
York, and a training certifi cation in Seminar in Field Instruction.
Watson has also received numerous awards such as In 2010, he received the Rising Star
Award, the Leadership in Excellence Award from the staff of Abyssinian Development Corporation
in 2013, NAACP Mid-Manhattan Branch Roy Wilkins Education Award in 2016, and
many others. In addition, he has enjoyed giving back and lending his expertise to two organizations’
Board of Directors, in New York City.
When not working, he has enjoyed spending time with his wife and children. Born in Harlem
and raised in the Bronx, NY, he also fi nds pleasure in playing basketball and watching sports
