JUAN
CANTILLO
SENIOR FACILITIES MANAGER
CITYMEALS OF WHEELS
Juan Cantillo has been serving as Senior Facilities Manager at Citymeals on Wheels and has
worked for them for a decade and has overseen all warehouse and grounds maintenance at
the organization’s Emergency Meal Distribution Center in the Bronx.
Opened in the fall of 2018, the 25,000-square foot warehouse facility dramatically expanded
Citymeals’ capacity to meet the needs of New York City’s growing senior population. In a typical
year, nearly 600,000shelf-stable meals are packed and distributed at the warehouse for
homebound elderly New Yorkers.
Cantillo has played a key role helping Citymeals nourish vulnerable seniors in times of crisis,
including in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and throughout the COVID-19crisis. He can
always be counted on to do whatever it takes, from jumping on the assembly line to pack
emergency meals to delivering meals himself to the door of older New Yorkers in need.
The opportunity to help others, especially his frail aged neighbors, has been what has motivated
him, Cantillo says. “It doesn’t hurt that Iget to use some awesome toys to keep our
warehouse running,” he added.
Cantillo has lived in New York City for ten years and has called the Bronx home since February
2016. An outdoorsman, he loves camping and fi shing.
