Edison Ortega is the Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Offi cer, Chief Information Offi cer,
and Chief Information Security Offi cer for Spring Bank, headquartered in the Bronx, NY.He
earned his BS in Computer Science from Campbell University in 2006��and his Masters of
Business Administration (MBA) from Fordham Gabelli School of Business in 2018.
Before starting his fruitful career at Spring Bank, Edison Ortega served bravely in the US
Army, from November 1997��thru November 2005. During his service, he was stationed in Fort
Bragg, North Carolina, Camp Humphreys in South Korea, and Baghdad, Iraq. Through his
experience in the Army, he learned lessons of discipline, the value of teamwork, and being a
servant leader. This served as a foundation for him to be successful in helping uplift organizations
that he has worked with but also helping him be a role model to the community.
Afterwards, his next career move would be to become an AVP and Systems Manager at Savoy
Bank from January 2006��to October 2011. Here Savoy Bank offered him a great amount of
experience to build organizations up. Mr. Ortega was also responsible for all aspects of technology
including project management, regulatory compliance, and information security. He is truly
an information technology professional with extensive experience in community banking.
In 2011, Edison joined Community Federal Savings Bank (CFSB) as First Vice President, Director
of Technology and Operations. He stayed in this position for four years until September
2015.With his rich and diverse background, Edison Ortega would take his talentsto Spring
Bank, eventually earning his current positions of SVP, COO, CIO, and CISO.
In his free time, Mr. Ortega volunteers on the Board of Managers for the YMCA of Greater
New York (Bronx branch), and the Fordham Social Innovation Collaboratory. He is also
a member of the American Legion Post 1456��— Bronx, NY. Edison is married to his wife of
7��years, Paola, and they have 1��daughter, Sabrina, who is 5��years old. With them, he loves
spending time with other members of his family including his beloved mother and father, Mariana
and Freddy, respectively.
