Gino Veneroso transitioned his skills from the hospitality industry to fi nd what he refers to as
his true vocational calling, championing the quality of life for all seniors. In 2016 he began
his career with Sunrise Senior Living, as a Director of Sales. His passion and stewardship for
placing service above self has caused Gino to serve Sunrise in multiple capacities including
Area Manager of Business Development, Director of Network Development which led him into
his current role of Director of Community Relations for Sunrise’s newest community; Sunrise
East 56th, a luxury senior living high rise nestled in the heart of Manhattan.
In a time of mental illnesses rising to an all-time high due to social isolation mandates, Gino
has created an online community to promote connection and resiliency amongst isolated seniors.
He effectively marshaled together a network of top tier healthcare professionals to offer
guidance and support in a weekly webinar called “Live With Purpose”.
When asked what a Healthcare Hero means to him, Gino defers to the resident care directors,
designated care managers and assisted living coordinators he admittedly feels humbled
working besides. “For me, it is working with this team of serving hearts every day that has
truly given meaning to the word hero” Gino remarks.
Sunrise Senior Living had introduced the concept of assisted living to the United States in
1981, when founders Peter and Terry Klaassen opened the country’s fi rst assisted living community
in Oakton, Virginia. Today you will fi nd more than 320 Sunrise Senior Living Communities
throughout the U.S., Canada and the United States
