Yvette Bairan has been serving as the CEO of Astor Services for Children & Families, and has
been a dynamic and experienced leader. She has more than 25 years of experience in the
non-profit realm, with over 13 of those spent at Astor.
Bairan started at the non-profit in 2008 and served as a corporate compliance analyst before
rising up the ranks to become chief compliance officer, and CEO. Bairan has been a resultsdriven
leader who worked closely with the organization’s Board of Directors, department
heads, staff, and key stakeholders within the community to drive its mission forward.
She has been serving as a Board Member of COFFCA, Board Member and Co-Chair of the
Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, and NYS Children’s Behavioral Coalition, and is
part of the Community Police Reform committee for Rhinebeck.
Bairan has been certified in Healthcare Compliance by Health Care Compliance Association
and has participated in a wealth of training and conferences related to compliance and
management.
A bilingual native of Bronx, NY, Bairan was raised by her mom who immigrated to the United
States from Costa Rica. She is the youngest of four sisters, and the first member of her family
to graduate from college. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the State
University of New York at Binghamton and her Master in Public Administration from New York
University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
Bairan currently resides in Poughkeepsie, New York with her husband Alex and son Brandon.
She has participated in her community by holding positions in various school district
organizations.
