BRONXCARE HEALTH SYSTEM
Hiram Torres has been serving as the Vice President of Operations at BronxCare Health System,
and has been involved in the planning and implementation of BronxCare’s capital projects,
as well as its administrative, medical, and support services. He took a most important
role in the day-to-day operations of BronxCare.
BronxCare is an 859��bed teaching hospital system, with more than 4,500��employees. Its two
main hospital divisions, comprehensive psychiatric and chemical dependency programs,
long-term care facility, and outpatient network that delivers the highest quality and accessible
services to the community. It has been among the largest providers of outpatient services
in New York City, with close to one million visits annually. BronxCare’s ER also responds to
141,000��visits, one of the busiest in New York.
Torres was born and raised in the Bronx and has considered BronxCare as a second home for
him. He and his wife, Allison, have three children.
