RIGHT AT HOME
Walter Ochoa has been serving as Owner and Operator of Right at Home of Brooklyn and
Staten Island. He graduated from Del Valle University in Guatemala and he then met and
married his American sweetheart, Jean. They moved to Brooklyn, where they live with their 2
children. And they are very involved in the community.
Ochoa has worked for some of the top financial companies in the world; however, despite
his success, he had always wanted to do something more fulfilling. He wanted to assist
those wishing to stay in their own homes, but could no longer do it alone, especially the
elderly and disabled. When the opportunity arose to start his own business, he took it.
In 2010, Ochoa and Jean ventured to open the first Right at Home office in NYC. He knew
he made the right decision; people wanted to age at home. Right at Home has now assisted
thousands of clients, adults of any age that need assistance to continue living “Right at
Home”. It has also created thousands of employment opportunities and has trained Nurses,
Home Aides, and Family Caregivers in the community, as well as in several prestigious
facilities in the city.
They also focus on “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia” and how to improve the
care for those who suffer this disease. Ochoa has also served on several boards, recently
as Secretary for the Community Advisory Board for the Bay Ridge Senior Center, and as
representative of the Northeast Region for the Right at Home Franchise Advisory Council.
