Steven A. Fangmann P.E., BCEE has been a recognized engineer, speaker, author and thought
leader in the area of civil and environmental engineering for over 40 years. After becoming
President of D&B Engineers and Architects, a leading full service engineering, architectural
and construction management firm, he implemented major initiatives to strategically position
the venerable organization for continued and future success.
Fangmann’s record of service to the engineering profession is extensive and longstanding. He
was the President of the New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) and a member of
the NYWEA Hall of Fame. He was also President of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State
Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE) and was elected Engineer of the Year by the
same. Fangmann has been honored with numerous awards over the years.
With special expertise in wastewater facilities planning, investigations and detailed designs
of municipal wastewater treatment plants and sewer systems, water management planning,
water and wastewater regulations and project management, Fangmann has overseen
hundreds of infrastructure projects, both private and public, in the most environmentally
acceptable, safe and cost-conscious manner.
Fangmann, who received his undergraduate Bachelors of Civil Engineering (B.C.E.) and
Masters of Environmental Engineering (M.E.E.) degrees from Manhattan College, has actively
supported many charities including The Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and America’s
VetDogs where he served as Vice President of Planning when building its present Campus,
the Maurer Foundation for Breast Cancer Health and is on Manhattan College’s Board of
Advisors to the Civil and Environmental Engineering Departments.
