J.D. MASSEY ASSOCIATES
Dr. Joanna Massey has been serving as the President and CEO of the consulting firm J.D.
Massey Associates. And with more than 25 years of experience in the media industry at
companies, such as Condé Nast, Lionsgate, CBS, Viacom, Discovery and Hasbro, she has
been a C-level communications executive and Board Director. She has managed brand
reputation, corporate turnaround, crisis communications, culture transformation, and multimillion
dollar P&Ls.
Also a Doctor of Psychology, Dr. Massey has advised companies and executive teams on
all matters relating to change management, especially communicating with Millennial and
Gen Z employees, consumers, and investors. Dr. Massey has also been a corporate speaker
and trainer, as well as author of a variety of books. In addition, she has been an adjunct
professor at Columbia University, where she has taught a masters-level course in corporate
communications.
As a Board Director, Dr. Massey has been a member of the National Association of Corporate
Directors (NACD) and has served on the Advisory Boards of 8B Education Investments,
a financial startup; and The Resolution Project, a nonprofit that funds and mentors
undergraduate entrepreneurs with businesses that do social good.
Formerly, she served on the Board of Directors of The Resolution Project as a member of the
Audit committee, the University of Southern California New York Alumni Club as a member of
the Executive Board, and Colors LGBTQ Youth Counseling Services.
Dr. Massey has also been an angel investor who advises female entrepreneurs on all aspects
of seed funding.
Dr. Massey graduated with four degrees in both business and psychology, and has been a
member of the American Psychological Association.
