CHEN
CHAIRMAN
CRYSTAL WINDOW AND DOOR SYSTEMS
Thomas Chen has been serving as the Chairman for Crystal Window and Door Systems family
of companies, providing vision and strategic guidance. Having transitioned from founder to

related business development activities.
At 27, Chen came to the United States from Taiwan to build a better life for his family. He
started his own business in 1985 manufacturing and installing window guards and gates, then
added windows. In 1990, he launched Crystal Window and Door Systems in Queens, NY.
Working 14-hour days, Chen studied English at night and initiated his own business efforts.
Crystal Windows grew quickly and is now one of the top 30 window manufacturers in North
America, producing over 500,000 units annually. Chen also established manufacturing
operations in St Louis, Riverside (CA), Chicago, and Scranton (PA), and employs over 750
nationally.
Chen has supported many non-profit organizations focused on art, culture, education,
charitable works, and disaster relief, as well as several Asian-American business groups,
providing a prominent and strong role model for the community.
He has been spotlighted in the media over the years, with entries in Donald Trump’s business
advice book “The Way to the Top” and Crain’s New York Business editor Greg David’s book
“Modern New York”, and articles in Fortune Magazine, Inc. Magazine, New York Daily News,
