Carolyn Harvey has been serving as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and has been charged
with maintaining clinical and patient-care standards by encouraging and inspiring others to
uphold evidence-based and best practices. She has also planned and overseen the daily
activities within the hospital and ensured quality of care in the department. This includes
organizing, directing and coordinating nursing care, and health services in compliance with
regulatory standards and facility policies.
She has worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and
Chief Financial Officer and stakeholders to acquire the right infrastructure and resources
to implement new nursing strategies that aim to improve quality and safety. In addition to
nursing, she has oversight of the Respiratory Department and Social Work Services, fiscal
responsibility for budget allocation and control based on standards, workload, and design of
workflow to enhance productivity, nurse engagement, and patient experience.
Harvey has also been responsible for nursing budget allocation and control based on

patient experience. She served in various nursing clinical and leadership roles at Northwell
Health where she developed administrative, clinical, and professional skills that cemented her
extensive experience.
She received her Doctoral degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey and both her
Master’s and Bachelor of Science degrees from Adelphi University in Garden City, New
York. Certifications include American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), Certification as a
Clinical Nurse Specialist, TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, and Patient Review Instrument (PRI)
certification and Breakthrough Lean Bronze training.
