Felicia Kalan is a mom of two running for City Council District 22 in Queens.
Kalan studied Political Science and International Studies at the University of Evansville and
the American University in Cairo, Egypt. She served as a Legislative Service Commission
Fellow and Legislative Aide in the Ohio State Legislature, co-founded an anti-human
trafficking nonprofit called UNCHAINED that served survivors of human trafficking, and
worked as the former V.P. of Operations at COhatch, a coworking space and startup incubator
company that helps economically revitalize struggling areas.
She is the Chairwoman of the Interfaith Coalition for Peace & Safety. She also serves
alongside her husband Andy, one of the Pastors at Bridge Community Church in Long Island
City- a church that primarily serves Ravenswood and Queensbridge Houses.
Kalan was nominated by Schneps Media as a “Power Woman of 2020” and was also listed
in Top 3 local candidates to watch by national political organization Republican Women for
Progress.
She is passionate about quality education for NYC students, bringing good paying jobs to
Queens and using her background to support local entrepreneurship, and fighting for public
safety and clean streets.
