Grace Cerini has been serving as Office Manager at Capital Shield Agency. She was born
and raised in the Bronx and has four children and currently lives in Pelham Bay. She owns
Capital Shield Insurance Agency & BronxTaxMan Corp. in Throggs Neck, along with her
husband John, for over 21 years. Especially during this pandemic, Cerini provided a safe
outdoor service to ease their minds, by going to and from their houses to pick up and drop off
documentation.
Cerini has always had a passion to help others in her community. She was actively involved in
the PTA at PS71-Rose E Scala for 15 years. She acquired a grant from the senator to provide
portable laptops for the upper grades. She has also been successful in gaining a permanent
crossing guard at the corner of Roberts and Jarvis Ave, which was much needed in front of
the school. Cerini had also started up a Girl Scout troop to provide a place for girls to go after
school and continued as a leader for over 10 years.
As an advocate for the community, Cerini had petitioned for better signs after car accidents
consistently occurred in the neighborhood. With constant communication with the DOT and
a petition signed by residents, she was successful in obtaining a four-way stop sign and
continues to report road repairs for the safety of the community. As a proud Catholic, she is
on St. Benedict’s Church Council and is blessed to be able to continue as an advocate for her
community.
