PRODUCTION PROCESS AND INVENTORY MANAGER
CITYMEALS ON WHEELS
Ottis Lewis has been serving as Production Process and Inventory Manager for Citymeals on
Wheels and has worked with them for nearly 18��years, having helped to provide a lifeline of
nourishing meals for over 18,000��homebound elderly New Yorkers.
At the organization’s Emergency Meal Distribution Center in the Bronx, Lewis has overseen
all aspects of the production process and manages inventory. In a typical year, Citymeals has
delivered 2��million meals to homebound elderly New Yorkers and a third of those are nourishing
shelf-stable meals that come from its warehouse.
During the COVID-19��crisis, Lewis has worked overtime supporting Citymeals’ role as a designated
emergency responder for the city’s seniors. Since March, he and the warehouse team
have packed and delivered over 625,000��emergency meals for older New Yorkers in need.
Lewis said he has been proud that his work at the Citymeals has been making an impact on
the lives of many vulnerable older people.
When not driving a forklift at work, he enjoys basketball, baseball and football and is a fan of
Asian cinema. Lewis lives with his wife and four children.
