Jeanine Ramirez has been noted as an award-winning anchor and reporter for NY1 News.
She’s primarily been covering Brooklyn for more than 20 years reporting on the borough’s
residents, schools, politics, religions, and neighborhoods. She also has been the lead reporter
on many Latino issues and has been on the weekend anchor desk.
Ramirez has been nominated for two Emmy Awards, won 3 New York Press Club awards
and named on the 2019 and 2020 Brooklyn Power list by City & State. She had the honor
of marching as one of the Grand Marshals in the National Puerto Rican Day Parade up Fifth
Avenue. She received an Impact Award from the National Hispanic Media Coalition and was
named a Titan of Tech by her alma mater Brooklyn Tech High School. Ramirez has also been
recognized by El Diario/La Prensa, Borough President Eric Adams, State Senator Martin
Golden, Brooklyn Three Kings Day Parade, St. Nick’s Alliance, Southside United, Camp
Brooklyn Fund, former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Council of Supervisors
and Administrators (CSA) Latino Caucus, Brooklyn College, Latino Coalition for Fair Media,
Prospect Park Alliance Boricua Festival, Sunset Park Lions Club, Professional People of Color,
former City Comptroller William Thompson and former Brooklyn Borough President Howard
Golden among others.
Her work has also taken her to Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico for news
coverage. Ramirez has been a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic
Journalists.
