NINOSKA
CAROLINA
FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
MOTT HAVEN FILM FESTIVAL
Founder and Executive Director of Mott Haven Film Festival, Ninoska Carolina was born and
raised in New York City. She grew up in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx alongside
her younger sister and mom. Carolina was the first to graduate High School and began
attending college shortly after. After graduating from Borough of Manhattan Community
College (BMCC), a CUNY Institute, she decided to pursue her bachelor’s degree at the
City College of New York (CCNY). She graduated with a degree in Communications with a
specialization in Public Relations and Advertising.
A few years later, Carolina decided to attend New York University (NYU), where she continued
to develop her communications skills by obtaining a Master’s in Public Relations and
Corporate Communication. She always wanted to give back to the community but didn’t
know-how. She knew funding the Mott Haven Film Festival (MHFF) was her calling because
the impact in the community would be endless.
With MHFF, Carolina has the opportunity to give back to the neighborhood she was raised in
while establishing a much-needed film festival in The Bronx. Carolina has also been a certified
event planner from Kingsborough Community College.
Besides MHFF, Carolina has been exploring other areas of art, such as creating a Podcast
tailored towards first-time parents, and has started teaching entry-level business courses
via zoom to help individuals start their entrepreneurial ventures. Classes include Branding,
Marketing, and Public Relations. Eventually, Carolina hopes to fulfill her dream of becoming a
Professor for a CUNY institution.
