VALCICH
CEO
MICKEY’S CARTING & MICKEY’S LAWNSCAPES
Valinda Valcich has been serving as CEO for Mickey’s Carting Corp. and Mickey’s
Lawnscapes. She has been honored to be selected as a power woman of Long Island.
Mickey’s Carting has been the preeminent waste company based in Montauk that services
all of the eastern end of the North and South forks since 1986. She has overseen all daily
executive decisions along with back-end technology.
Valcich and her husband started the company with one truck and a handful of clients. The
same is true for Mickey’s Lawnscapes, Inc. but she has also been the Landscape Designer
for the company. They have worked for clients on the east end since 1983. Valcich studied
Architecture in college and has applied her knowledge to landscape design.
In 2014, she created the Tyler Project.org after losing her son to suicide. In desperate need to
try and help others and honoring her son, this foundation was established to help the youth
and young adults of the community through suicide awareness, education and prevention.
They have also created The East End Chat and Chill group, which has allowed young people
to openly discuss their concerns with a therapist in a neutral setting, which has been a very
successful initiative.
Hobbies that Valcich has enjoyed is golf, she has played her entire life and thought about
becoming a professional player. But after 2014, she has mostly played in fundraiser events
and with her friends. They have a great traveling golf team where she has played in Pro-am
golf events in North America and some in other countries.
