Michelle Zettergren joined MagnaCare in 2017, becoming the fi rst female President in the
company’s 30year history and part of a diverse leadership team focused on serving the
needs of Labor and commercial self-funded clients with innovative products and solutions.
Zettergren has 25years of experience in the health insurance industry, serving both national
and regional carriers in various executive leadership roles focused on sales, product, marketing
and underwriting.
She has been proud to be part of an organization which originated to support and provide
benefi ts for hard working men and women and their families. Her own family is deeply rooted
in Labor and for Zettergren, leading an organization that supports Labor so passionately has
been an honor and a privilege.
Since joining MagnaCare, she has led initiatives that have transformed the business— including
new strategic health system alliances, market leading technology, increased customer
acquisition and retention, national market expansion, market-leading NPS, new marketing and
branding, and new and enhanced administrative service offerings.
Most recently, Zettergren led the organization to help Labor and self-insured groups in the
New York tri-state area navigate COVID-19— rallying her team for round-the-clock outreach,
sourcing hand sanitizer and masks, identifying testing locations, and conveying information
on government mandates and recommendations.
In addition to her current role at MagnaCare, Zettergren has served on multiple local and
national boards, including the American Association of Payers, Administrators and Networks
(AAPAN). She has also proudly served as the Board Chair for Special Olympics Connecticut.
She has held multiple state licenses in Accident & Health, and she is a certifi ed mediator.
