TITLEVEST
Brian Tormey has been serving as President for TitleVest and its related entity, 1031Vest,
he has been responsible for strategic planning and implementation of all initiatives, leading
the development of projects spanning technology, administrating national licensing and
operations efficiencies, and overseeing management of 150+ employees.
Additionally, after building and selling TitleVest to First American Title in March of 2015,
Tormey took over the management of several other First American operations in his
expanded role as New York State Manager for the Direct Division of First American.
During his 17+ year tenure at TitleVest, the company has received numerous awards,
including being named one of the Top 5000 Fastest Growing Companies by Inc. Magazine,
and “Best Title Agency” in New York Law Journal’s 2013, 2014, and 2015 Reader Rankings.
Tormey has helped to structure and oversee the closing of real estate transactions for
leading lenders, investment banks, developers, REITs, and other real estate investors,
totaling over $40 billion throughout the United States and abroad.
Tormey’s expert knowledge of the industry has been sought after by reporters for several
major publications, and he has been quoted in many publications, including multiple New
York Times articles.
Tormey graduated from Vassar College with a BA in Science Technology & Society, and
currently serves on the Board of several organizations. Additionally, he is a licensed title
producer in numerous states. He has been residing in New York’s Hudson Valley with his
wife and two children.
