Everything you’d ever want is right
here in Queens, especially in western
Queens. Of course, some things are
harder to find than others. Up until
May 4, 2019 (the day known as Free
Comic Book Day or Star Wars Day),
western Queens residents may have
had trouble finding a certain comic book
or a Funko Pop! doll. The once excruciating
search to acquire collectible goods became
a little easier because of the opening of the
comic book store Royal Collectibles, located
on Broadway and 45th Street.
“Queens as a borough is pretty underserved
as comic book stores go. There’s plenty in
Manhattan, Long Island, Jersey and Brooklyn,”
part-owner Mike Giordano said. “It’s pretty
much just us and Silver Age off of Ditmars. It is
surprising. Being right above the train station,
everyday people walk into the door just by
