Now, Pineapple Street Designs sells
stationery that mostly centers around
places of significance to each couple.
Since their debut New York City Collection,
the two have tackled Chicago, Pittsburgh,
Paris, San Francisco and Washington,
D.C. Astoria couples, take note: their
Queens collection is next. Coiro wants to
sketch the Hellgate Bridge, RFK Bridge,
Queensboro Bridge, Citi Field and some
of the borough’s best museums.
Pineapple Street Designs’ invitation suite
consists of a main invitation piece, an RSVP
card, details card, and two envelopes that
are handmade by Bambling, each with a
distinct lining (their subway map liner is
a big hit). Each piece has its own specific
sketch of a place, but they all tie together
with a common theme or city. While
wedding invites aren’t Pineapple Street’s
only offering (they’ve created stationery for
baby showers, bar mitzvahs and parties),
they feel like their styles are best suited to
nuptials.
"We chose to do the wedding industry
because it's really where we saw a market
for what we're doing," Bambling said.
That’s because a wedding is a time when
"people are looking to invest in something
special, paper-wise."
