Airlink mobilizes aviation aid
Provides global disaster relief
Airlink, a nonprofi t relief organization
focused on mobilizing the
aviation industry to ensure assistance
reaches communities affected
by disasters and other humanitarian
crises around the world.
Just last week, a valuable shipment
left Newark Airport via
United (which donated the transportation)
of three pallets of medical
supplies and medicines heading
to Puerto Rico for those impacted
by the earthquakes were valued at
$400k. They’ll be used by Americares
and their partners to treat the
injured and chronically ill.
Airlink provides airlift and logistics
expertise to more than 130
nonprofi t organizations around the
world. These partners are committed
to humanitarian relief, abiding
by core principles in the sector, and
are vetted by Airlink leadership
to ensure we are partnering with
high-quality organizations with
a proven track-record of responsible
aid. Together, we provide aid
to those in need in natural disasters
as well as protracted emergencies
including confl icts, famines,
and epidemics. Airlink’s Regional
Response Framework is designed
to inform a timely response to humanitarian
crises and provide relief
to communities in crisis. The
Framework breaks the globe into
six regions – Asia-Pacifi c, Europe,
Latin America and Caribbean, Middle
East and North Africa, North
America, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Six corresponding plans serve as a
resource for Airlink as well as its
aviation and NGO partners to inform
and act quickly.
Through consistent engagement
during non-disaster periods, the regional
plans build a common understanding
of the coordination and
aid delivery resources available,
fostering more planned and predictable
service to NGOs, aviation
partners, and people in need.
