Introduces customer friendly self-drop at LaGuardia Terminal C counter
Spirit Airlines introduced
their new self-bag drop at La-
Guardia Airport at their Terminal
C check-in.
This self automated bag
machine is the first of its
kind in the Tri-State according

to Gary McDonald, the
President of the equipment
from Materna IPS. Spirit VP
Mike Byrom was in the company
of several Spirit Airlines
executives who were
there to meet the public and

machine is to use. According
to Byrom, “ It is all about
shortening lines and speeding
up the travelers trip.”
Surprised terminal onlookers
were even given a fake
ticket for the purpose of trying
the new system out to see
the ease of use. They will
however, maintain a service
agent in the area to help customers
with any questions
or assistance.
Byrom explained that
Spirit is looking to improve
the customer experience by
newer, wider seats, fast check
in and this new bag drop.
Spirit also Spirit plans to install
self-service bag drops
across the U.S. in 2020 and
2021 as part of its improved
flier experience.
