JFK REDEV. BENEFITS
The JFK Airport has created the JFK
Redevelopment Engagement program.
This is comprised of the main Steering
Committee with 5 working stakeholder
groups: Airside, Airtrain, Communications/
Outreach, Parking and Traffic
Management. These working groups
were created with definite objectives and
tasks in their particular area to provide
ideas and feed back to the Port Authority
airport as the JFK redevelopment rolls
out.
The mission of the program is to maintain
a positive customer and employee experience
through a collaborative work
effort among all airport stakeholders
during the JFK Redevelopment program

Expand biz relations in JFK Terminal 8
Management from JFK Airport,
and British Airlines joined
American Airlines in a traditional
shovel-in-the-ground ceremony
to commemorate the beginning
of the American Airlines Terminal
8 construction for the expansion
and modernization as part of
the creation of JFK Airport as the
21st Century Gateway to the world.
American recently received the approval
from environmental review
and soon after started their construction
to make way and room
for their partnership with British
Airways in the terminal as soon as
the modifications of the $344 million
investment in Terminal 8 will
include improvements in the overall
customer experience, including
the addition of five wide-body gates
and four adjacent wide-body hard
stands, enhanced baggage systems,
new lounges, premium check-in
space three new hard stands and
upgraded concessions and retail options
are completed in 2022.

JFK reveals details of master plan for JFK Airport Redevelopment
Never before seen renderings, details and time-line presented to airport community
On January 7th, The
Port Authority held an airport
stakeholders presentation
of things to come for
the JFK Airport redevelopment.
For the first time, the
Port, terminal operators
and investors presented
architectural renderings,
comprehensive details and
enthusiastic comments on
their individual roles in the
5-6 year redevelopment project
expected to begin early
spring 2020.

welcomed stakeholders
to the advent of exciting
JFK redevelopment events
which include T1, T5-6 new
terminals, expansion of AA
Terminal 8 and soon to be
announced T4 transformation
into the future; A New

described the timeline of
construction, and intent to
provide the best customer
experience under the circumstances
as well as the
Port’s understanding to include
community concerns.
To this end stakeholders
working groups have been
set up to offer ideas to the
redevelopment team.
