Tuesday, September 24, at approximately
2:37 p.m. - An unidentified female attempted to
leave M&S Beauty Supply Store without paying for
an item inside 1018 Westchester Avenue.
The 34-year-old male employee confronted the
female at which time a physical altercation ensued
resulting in the employee sustaining dental injuries.
Two others were outside and smashed the glass
portion of the door before all three suspects fled in
unknown direction. The victim was treated at the
scene for his injuries.
44th Precinct
Thursday August 15, at 2:37 p.m. - a man
grabbed another 75-year-old man by the arm, told
him he was the police and demanded to see his
identification in the near Webster Avenue and East
174th Street. When the victim produced his wallet
to show the individual his ID, the individual grabbed
the wallet and fled on foot northbound on Webster
Avenue.
The perp is described as a male, black, 20 to
30 years old, 5’5”, with short dreadlocks. He was
last seen wearing a white tank top, blue and white
shorts, and white sneakers.
47th Precinct
UPDATE: On Sunday, November 4, 2018 police
responded to a 911 call of a man shot in front of
4714 White Plains Road. Upon arrival, officers observed
25-year-old Marlon Pottinger of 2911 Barnes
Avenue with a gunshot wound to the face. EMS then
responded to the location and transported the Pottinger
to Montefiore Hospital, where he was listed in
critical condition. He finally succumbed to his injuries
on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. The case has been
now ruled a homicide.
On Tuesday, September 24 police charged
David Carter of 1245 Stratford Avenue with attempted
murder, two counts of assault and two counts of
criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal
possession of a loaded firearm and unlawful possession
of marijuana.
48th Precinct
Thursday September 5, 2019, 5:45 hours p.m.
- a man entered a residential building the building by
forcing open a basement at E. 189 Street and Hoffman
Street, he gained entry into the building by forcing
open a basement door. Once inside, he opened
a package addressed to a 21-year-old female victim
and took a box with a pair of sneakers inside it. He
fled the building in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, 40 to
50 years old and with a mustache. H was last seen
wearing a light colored baseball cap, a gray shirt
with the words “bite me” on the front, blue jeans
and black sneakers.
50th Precinct
Wednesday, September 25 at 2:46 a.m. - police
responded to a 911 call of a multi-vehicle collision
on the northbound Major Deegan Expressway,
just south of West 238th Street.
Upon arrival, officers observed a northbound
vehicle collision involving three vehicles in the right
lane, with a 23-year-old female passenger and a
49-year-old female driver complaining of pain and
a 53-year-old male vehicle operator suffering from
trauma. EMS responded to the location and transported
the two females to New York Presbyterian-
Allen Pavilion Hospital and St. Barnabas Hospital, respectively,
in stable condition. EMS also transported
the seriously injured man to St. Barnabas Hospital,
where he was pronounced deceased.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains
ongoing.
