Lining the top of their dresser are little
handcrafted drawings made of watercolor
and Sharpie with doodles of stick figures
along with a cute message like, “Your
Koala-ties are awesome,” and, “I love the
internet for bringing us together.”
“If it’s like a birthday or an anniversary
or something, Kris will get me a couple of
these to add to the collection,” Ilana said.
“They’re like weird and quirky and we’re
weird and quirky. I love it.”
Next to those are her dried-out wedding
flowers that she just doesn’t have
the heart to get rid of yet. But when she
does, I have no doubt that they’ll fill the
space with another meaningful memory.
As Kris likes to say, “Happy wife, happy
life, I know. But as I said in my vows, it
works both ways, too!”
