They’ve used other small-space hacks
like a beautiful wooden coffee table that
slides open for storage. There’s a small
desk, up against the wall adjacent to the
fireplace, with open shelves extending to
the ceiling above it – again stacked with
knick-knacks and photos of the newlyweds.
“We just had a lot of pictures we wanted
to display,” Kris said. “And we keep
acquiring more after the wedding.”
The Mullens got engaged, got married
and moved in together over the course
of the same year, so they haven’t had
much downtime to rearrange and add
their wedding photos to the mix – something
they’re hoping to do this New Year.
Amongst the framed selfies and engagement
photos are souvenirs from
their travels.
“We’ve got a little taste of everything.
Ilana is a big traveler, so there’s something
from everywhere, like those pieces
are from Colombia,” Kris said, pointing
out two colorful framed pieces near the
bedroom.
