CEO of Pa-Nash family restaurant in JFK
Annette Hurd-Runcie is the CEO of Pa-Nash
Eurosoul and J&P Runway Café. She got involved
in the aviation industry after she found out about
the John F. Kennedy airport redevelopment project
and she realized it was the perfect setting to
share her cuisine with the many visitors who
come and go through the airport from all over
 the world.
Growing up, her father was always the cook of
the household and she recalls many great memories
that she and her family shared while sitting
around the dinner table. This was where they
had many conversations about starting a family
restaurant, intending for it to become a legacy.
A vision I had for for PaNash was to bring the
flavor of Eurosoul Cuisine, a fusion of Mediterranean,
Caribbean, and Soul Food, to the world,” said
Hurd-Runcie. “My dad passed away in the Fall of
2014, but he was able to experience PaNash start
up . My sister then took over as the family cook.”
She has had many proud moments in her career,
such as the community work she does after
founding the first minority merchant association
in Southeast Queens, where she is currently
 chairperson helping minority owned businesses;
but there have also been challenges throughout
her journey that she has overcome as well.
“We had an unethical architect which caused
the job to get held up,” said Hurd-Runcie. “It took
us three years to start up PaNash, then I lost both

my parents a year after startup. Dealing with the
loss of my parents and still trying to build PaNash
was very challenging. The biggest challenge
in the operations of PaNash was managing staff.”
She credits her resilience, patience, and discipline
as the backbone of her success, and she currently
has her sights set on earning her Phd to become
a professor and assist other entrepreneurs,
particularly in Black and Latino communities.
“Make sure you have a strong support system,
family and friends that will be there to help you. I
don’t know what I would do without my sister and
the sisterhood of friends that are always there to
talk to and give great advice and support.”
