NYC Clean Truck program
Buy a new truck and save
Companies who operate in GatewayJFK
are eligible to receive between
$12,000 and $185,000 from the
New York City Clean Truck Program
(NYCCTP)
GatewayJFK held a Zoom info
session/Facebook Live Event
about the New York City Clean
Truck Program (NYCCTP) for the
independent owner/operators,
fleet operators, local businesses.
Susan McSherry spoke from the
City of NY Dept. of Transportation
and a representative from
Gabrielli trucks participated in
a presentation a presentation on
the program and answered questions.
Under the program Independent
owner/operators, fleet operators,
local businesses and truck
leasing companies who operate
in GatewayJFK are eligible to receive
between $12,000 and $185,000
from the New York City Clean
Truck Program (NYCCTP), for
upgrading the fuel efficiency of
their trucks. The amount of funding
received depends on fuel type
and truck class size. The program
works with designated truck dealerships
that can help walk businesses
through the program process.
Susan McSherry from NYC
Clean trucks said that the intent
is to support companies who are
planning to upgrade their fleet
in the GatewayJFK district, The
guidelines are strict but the support
in generous. Companies
would have to prove destruction
of their own documented working
vehicles to be eligible for the
program. Vehicles must be used
for over 5,000 miles a year and but
school bus fleets are not eligible
nor are cargo moving equipment.
Behind this initiative are efforts
to provide financial support to
smaller businesses, upgrade business
vehicles, reduce pollution, and
emissions that are harmful to areas
such as the Gateway JFK with
its mixed residential use. Conversions
acceptable to new truck purchases
are Electric or CNG, dieselelectric
or diesel hybrid. For more
