Her foray into aviation began from a
young age since her father was the lieutenant
for Port Authority in John F. Kennedy
Airport. “I was always fascinated with
the airport when I would go to work with
him,” she said. When she got older, she applied
for a job at American Airlines while
she was still in school to earn her physical
therapy assistant degree. She had planned
for the airline role to be temporary until
she finished college, but opportunities inspired
her to stick around. “25 years later
I early retired and moved to other adventures
which also brought me back to the
airport,” she said.
When Antonucci first got into the industry,
she recalls it being very male dominated
and as a woman she had to overcome adversity
in getting where she is today.
“It was difficult back when I started,”
said Antonucci. “It was pretty much “men
in charge” and I needed to work harder and
smarter to be recognized. Throughout the
years, I was able to move through the ranks
of the airline industry and as of today, honored
to hold this position of VP at CLPA.
She attributes her parents as one of the
reasons for her success saying, “My parents
taught me hard work and persistency will
give you a good foundation to be successful,”
and noting the importance of working hard

Her success and experience have inspired

to those looking at a career in the aviation
industry as she has said that she will “continue
to mentor the younger generation from
the experiences I have learned throughout
my 39 years at the airport.”
For women looking to get into the industry
