Malikka Karteron brings change to communities
2021 AIRPORT V 32 OICE WOMAN OF ACHIEVEMENT
in need with Global25
Malikka Karteron is the CEO and president of Global 25, an organization which brings change to communities in need through events and
project-based initiatives using science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
Starting her own business was certainly challenging
however it has been a journey that was
worth it as Karteron is proud of all that she has
done thus far.
“I think I am most proud of the scope of my career
and all the wonderful opportunities
that have been afforded to me,” said Karteron.
“I believe that these opportunities should be
shared and that the knowledge I have acquired
should be “turn-keyed” in all realms whenever
possible.”
Karteron first got a taste for the aviation industry
when she went to The Concord and visited
the cockpit. Later on, in college she found
she was taking many of the same courses as
aviation majors, especially since her major
was marine and environmental science. At Cal
State in Los Angeles as a graduate fellow, she
did one of her geographical information system
projects based on the history of flight patterns
in New York City. She is also currently a member
of JFK Rotary and because of this, participates
in events they have associated with NYC
airports and the Council for Airport Opportunity.
She includes her parents as inspiration for
where she is today and attributes her exposure to
the aviation industry from their enthusiasm in
having their daughter learn all about it through
different avenues along her childhood.
“My Mom afforded me early and continuous

“My experiences with aviation related to
my academic career started at Hampton University,
VA and continued at Cal State LA. I have
always loved science; thus, I gravitate to the science

Industry.”
Her advice to anyone looking at a career in
aviation involves knowing what you want and being
unafraid in pursuing that.
“Continue to step out of your comfort zone,”
said Karteron. “Allow yourself to be seen, take up
space in a positive light, always do your research,
and say yes to new endeavors within reason - you
never know where they may lead.”
