A member of the Historic House Trust of New York City, the
farm is a New York City Landmark that’s listed on the National
Register of Historic Places. The restored Cornell Farmhouse,
which dates back to the Adriances, a Dutch family that
lived there from 1697 to 1808, stands on site near a working
greenhouse.
Inside scoop: The farm grows more than 80 varieties of
vegetables and more than 75 varieties of flowers annually,
including 6,000 pounds of tomatoes, 4,000 pounds of zucchini,
2,500 pounds of eggplant, and 1,600 pounds of winter squash. In
2019, it harvested more than 33,600 eggs and 1,000 pounds of
wildflower honey.

PUBLIC PARKS
Astoria Park offers shoreline access to the East River, views of
Manhattan and Randall’s Island, an outdoor pool, and multiple
recreational activities, lying below two bridges, the Robert F.
Kennedy (formerly Triborough) and Hell Gate. Located at the
western end of Ditmars Boulevard and covering about 60 acres,
the public space has running tracks, dog runs, skate parks,
tennis courts, a track, basketball courts, a bandstand, and many
trails. A high-quality ultimate Frisbee game takes place there on
Saturday mornings all year.
