Jacob Riis Park
 JACOB RIIS PARK
 Known as “The People’s Beach,” Jacob Riis Park is the Gateway
 National Recreation Area’s most popular attraction. About one
 mile long, it offers boardwalks, landscaped walkways, pitch-andputt
 33
 golf, sand, seaside, and surf.
 The public beach, which is maintained by the National Park
 Service, is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
 Inside scoop: The Art Deco bathhouse is part of a district that’s
 listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
 Address: www.nyharborparks.org.
 RIIS PARK BEACH BAZAAR
 People go to Rockaway for the sun, ocean breezes, and
 sandcastles, but they stay for the food. Riis Park Beach Bazaar
 consists of concession stands that sell food from Memorial Day
 Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.
 The Bazaar opened in 2016 and almost immediately became
 a tourism destination due to its top-notch cuisine. Here are some
 of the 2021 vendors: Cuisine by Claudette; Oaxaca Taquería;
 Odd Fellows Ice Cream; Pizza Moto; Rockaway Clam Bay;
 Rockaway Ice Lady; and Royal Hawaiian Shave Ice.
 Address: Officially, 167-02 Rockaway Beach Blvd., but the
 concessions spread out for about one mile near the promenade,
 and www.riisbazaar.com.
