All potentially eligible children must be referred to their County program to receive EIP services. To refer a child to the EIP in NYC call 311; Nassau 516-227-8661; Suffolk 631-853-3100; Westchester 914-813- 5094; or NYS Growing Up Healthy Hotline 1-800-522-5006. The EIP is funded by NYS DOH & County DOH’s. All EIP services are At No Cost to parents. Health Insurance is not required, but may be used by the County for approved EI services. When services are delivered in child care settings or community location requiring a fee, parents are responsible for paying associated costs with such access to child care or community locations. A child’s eligibility for the EIP can only be determined by state- approved evaluators under contract with the County (All About Kids) to deliver EIP Services, & all services must be authorized by the County. If a child is found eligible for EIP, all needed services are identified collaboratively with the parent. The County will arrange for service providers, considering the individual needs of the child /family, to deliver authorized services. Our publications are partially funded by the NYS DOH, the Municipalities, and the NYC Dept. of EDU. Preschool: Parents concerned about the development of their preschool child ages 3-5 refer their child to their School District’s Committee for Preschool Special Education {CPSE} to request an evaluation. Only the CPSE determines eligibility & authorizes services. The CPSE program is funded/monitored by NYS Ed. Dept. & County DOH’s. All authorized services are provided at No Cost to parents.
