According to published sources, at around 1 p.m. on Oct. 20, the 24-year-old victim was waiting on the 7 train platform at Grand Central Station when an unidentified man came up to her from behind and grabbed her butt. After the initial incident, the woman boarded the Queens-bound 7 train and saw her attacker on the train. When she confronted him, he laughed in her face and and groped her again. The victim was able to take a picture of her attacker before he left the train. The suspect got off the train at the 61st Street-Woodside stop. Police describe the suspect as a man in his thirties, standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds and with a birthmark on his left arm. He was last seen wearing a grey short-sleeved hooded sweatshirt and a silver Casio watch. Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential. 109th Precinct Bayside, College Point, Flushing, Whitestone Bayside father sent to prison for 18 years for beating his newborn son to death A Bayside man who admitted to killing his 4-month-old son inside their residence nearly two years ago could spend most of the next two decades in a prison cell. Jagsheer Singh, 28, of Brian Crescent entered a guilty plea on Oct. 21 to charges of seconddegree manslaughter and first-degree assault for the death of Nevin Janduher Singh on the night of Dec. 19, 2014. He was ordered on Nov. 15 to serve concurrent prison terms of 18 years for the assault charge and five to 15 years for the manslaughter charge. According to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown, Jagsheer Singh struck Nevin Janduher in the head with a foreign object sometime between 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2014, and early the next morning. The abuse occurred while Jagsheer’s wife and Nevin’s mother, a radiologist at a local hospital, was at work. “As a father, the defendant’s job was to protect and nurture his helpless, innocent son,” Brown said. “Instead, the defendant assaulted his son, causing skull fractures and widespread brain injury and ultimately resulting in the child’s death.” When she returned home, she found Nevin in the crib unresponsive and having difficulty breathing. He was first taken to Flushing Hospital and later transferred to Cohen’s Children Hospital. Tests revealed that Nevin suffered multiple severe skull fractures, retinal hemorrhages and brain injuries due to oxygen deprivation. Nevin died several days later. Son of police union boss faces disciplinary action from the NYPD after Whitestone shooting A police officer, who happens to be the son of Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) President Patrick Lynch, has been placed on modified duty for a shooting incident involving a fellow cop in Whitestone this week. The New York Daily News reported that Police Officer Kevin Lynch, who is assigned to the 113th Precinct in Jamaica, was near the home of a colleague from the precinct, rookie Police Officer Robert Smilove, at about 11 p.m. on Sunday night, Nov. 13. Both officers were off-duty at the time. The two officers were sitting in Smilove’s mother’s car in the vicinity of 10th Avenue and 157th Street, during which Smilove allegedly showed Officer Lynch a .38-caliber revolver that he recently bought. Police sources said the gun accidentally went off while Smilove showed Lynch the weapon, sending a bullet through the car window. Both officers then fled the location. Officers from the 109th Precinct responded to the area after receiving a 911 call of shots fired; there were no injuries reported. They were able to track down Smilove after checking the plates on the vehicle where the gun had been fired, published reports indicated. Smilove was suspended, and Lynch was placed on modified duty, for failing to report the incident. Further disciplinary action against the officers is pending the results of a departmental investigation, it was reported. The PBA represents thousands of NYPD officers in labor and other matters; Patrick Lynch, a native of Bayside, was elected to a fifth term as the union’s president last year. QNS reached out to the PBA for comment about Sunday’s incident and is awaiting a response. 110th Precinct Corona, Elmhurst Random shooter opens fire on man near a fast food restaurant in Corona, cops say Cops are looking for a gun-toting suspect who walked up to a 22-year-old man and shot him near a fast food joint in Corona on Nov, 13, police said. Authorities said the shooting took place at 7:40 p.m. near a Popeye’s restaurant at the corner of 57th Avenue and 97th Street. According to law enforcement sources, the 22-year-old male victim was walking eastbound on 57th Avenue when the unidentified suspect approached him, pulled out a firearm and shot the man once in the right leg. The shooter then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The injured victim then hobbled across the street to an apartment building at the LeFrak City complex, where a 911 call was made. Officers from the 110th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment of his injury, which is not life-threatening. No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing. Photo courtesy of the NYPD This man on the 7 train groped a woman twice.
