President Marilyn Salzman is
very excited that for the first time
in NST history, tennis is free for all country
club members during non-prime time hours.
The NST Tennis Association is open to all
country club tennis players, past players,
their spouses, and significant others for an
$85 fee. Their membership allows them to
play during prime time, 8:00 am to 11:00 am,
participate in clinics, tournaments, social
events, Pro-Ams, and to have bagels and
coffee on weekends. In addition, there is a
promotion for first time outside sponsored
members for $1,695.
Tennis is available to all country club members
for open play from 6:30pm until 8:30pm
Monday and Thursday evenings, except for
holidays, and for zone tennis on Wednesday
evenings, except for holidays.
Marilyn encourages those who wish to join
the Tennis Association to attend a tennis event
and gain information about this lively group.
Potential members and new members always
receive a warm and friendly welcome!
Pickleball has come to
North Shore Towers
Located at the service entrance, next to the garden
Playing Pickleball and other racket sports helps
with hand-eye coordination. The senior age
group has been attracted to the sport because it is
easy to play, very social and less stressful on muscles,
tendons and joints.
Once you’ve played it, the attraction of
Pickleball—for seniors, especially—is clear. It’s
fast- paced, low-impact, and anyone who’s played a
racquet sport before can quickly get the hang of it.
Because the court is small (it can fit into half or even
a third of a tennis court), and doubles games are
standard, players hardly run than they would have in
tennis.
In closing, the smaller court also means less wear
and tear on knees, hips, ankles – our joints. For
people who have problems with these joints, but still
want a racket sport to be active, then Pickleball is
clearly the best choice.
So C’mon down and join us for a demonstration
on how the game is played… Call Pat Tulchin: 718-
