Did you know that at least one-in-five adult New Yorkers is likely to experience a
mental health disorder in any given year?
The Community Advisory Program for the Elderly,
known as CAPE, is an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic
for persons aged 50 and over. CAPE offers individual,
group and family therapy, psychiatric evaluations and
medication monitoring for both clinic and home bound
older adults. Services are offered in English, Chinese,
Spanish and Hebrew.
Medicare, Medicaid, and most other insurances are
accepted. Transportation, including a wheelchair
accessible van, is available for a small fee.
In addition to individual therapy, CAPE also offers
the following support groups:
- You and Your Aging Parents for adult children of
elderly parents
- Caregivers Support for those caring for a spouse
- Bereavement for those mourning the death of a
spouse
- Women's Support a women's support group
- Transitions for those transitioning to a new
phase of life
