Board of Directors
Election 2019:
It’s Time to Vote!
NORTH SHORE TOWERS’ ANNUAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION IS COMING SOON. BELOW ARE IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:
This year, there are nine (9)
candidates for four (4) open
seats, each for a two-year term.
Incumbents Stanley Goldsmith,
Phyllis Goldstein and Bob Ricken
have chosen to run.
The order of candidates was
drawn by lots on Tuesday, May
28. Their bios are presented
below in the order in which they
will appear on the ballot. Please
read them—and attend the Meet
the Candidates Night—so that
you can be an informed voter.
In order to ensure a fair and
impartial election, NST continues
to utilize the services
of the American Arbitration
Association (AAA), a non-profit
organization that specializes in
elections for unions and corporate
stockholders.
The annual Election Notice
and ballots will be mailed to all
NST shareholders on June 10.
Shareholders may return their
ballots to AAA in the postage-paid
envelope included with the ballot
or dropped in the secure ballot
boxes located in the lobby of each
building. Shareholders also have
the opportunity to vote at the
election itself.
Votes will be tallied by AAA
Friday, June 28, after which the
results will be announced.

I would like to make a commitment
to provide my extensive regulatory
and business experiences to
North Shore Towers as a member
of our Board Directors. I believe
that my experience will greatly
benefit the residents of North
Shore Towers.
I am a Graduate of Hofstra
University with a BBA in
Accounting. Currently, I am the
Owner of SBL Solutions LLC, a
company providing insurance and
regulatory and consulting services
for a variety of domestic and international
clients.
Prior to retiring from Government
Service, I was the Senior Advisor
to the Superintendent of the New
York State Department of Financial
Services. The Department of
Financial Services is the supervisor
of all Insurance companies in New
York, all New York State-chartered
depository institutions and the
majority of United States-based
branches and agencies of foreign
banking institutions.
In April 2010 I was appointed
First Deputy, Superintendent of
the New York State Insurance
Department. In that role, I was
second in command of the
Department, overseeing The
Deputy Superintendents of the
Department as well as the operation
of the agency. Before that I served
as the Deputy Superintendent for
Strategic Planning and Marketing
Initiatives meeting the needs of
consumers and industry.

Six years ago, I moved to North
Shore Towers, after living in a private
house for 26 years. Living in
apartment houses for most of my
life, moving to the Towers was like
coming home.
I was born and raised in
Brooklyn, attended Sheepshead
Bay High School and graduated
Brooklyn College with a BA and
MLD in Education. I am the product
of a public school education,
as my two sons are, and proud of
my service to the community in
which I lived and worked.
My experience is based on service
and dedication. In addition to
teaching, I served on and chaired
several committees, becoming a
liaison to the District School
Board. Community Outreach
was a major component of these
committees, effectively communicating
with parents, colleagues
and administrators. As a member
of the Retired Teachers Chapter
of the UFT, I volunteer as an
advocate for social and political
issues concerning our senior
population.
Here at North Shore Towers,
I joined the House & Grounds
Committee and most recently, the
Political Action Committee and
the Tennis Executive Board.
Join me in my commitment
to serve and strengthen our
community.
