This month, we wanted to work up an appetite for Thanksgiving,
so we asked you to tag us (@boromagazine) in your Instagram
pictures of food in Astoria, Long Island City and Sunnyside.
Your photos showcased some of the impressively creative
offerings at local eateries, such as the Nutella latte from FireFly
Petite Café Bistro in Sunnyside; the potato waffl e with pickled
smelts, crème fraîche, roe and dill from M. Wells Steakhouse in Long
Island City; and the Dirty Shoyu ramen from LIC’s Ramen Shack. You
also shared some home cooking with us, including a colorful meal
prep and pumpkin waffl es. We hope these photos inspire you to step
out of your comfort zone this month, whether that means trying a new
western Queens restaurant or testing out a fresh recipe.
