Sheltair and Avfuel
Partner
New Scholarship Program
Sheltair Aviation, a leading aviation services
company, and Avfuel Corporation, a
leading global supplier of aviation fuel and
services, expand the scope of their partnership
to include a new scholarship program:
Future Takes Flight.
The Sheltair and Avfuel: Future Takes
Flight Scholarships will provide $30,000 in
educational funds annually. Each year, the
program will award six $5,000 scholarships
across three categories: two for learning to
fly or advanced pilot ratings; two for aviation
technicians; and two for continuing education.
“The Future Takes Flight scholarship
program stems from a desire to re-invest
in the aviation community we love and are
so deeply passionate about,” said Lisa Holland,
Sheltair’s president. “The Sheltair and
Avfuel teams felt the best way to do so was
by providing meaningful financial support to
aviators pursuing a greater commitment to
business aviation. We’re giving back to the
industry that has given us everything.”

Joel Hirst, Avfuel’s senior vice president
of sales, said: “In supporting career
advancement opportunities, we’re investing
in the marketplace that has allowed Avfuel
and Sheltair to thrive as collaborative partners
for nearly 10 years. It’s our collective
way to celebrate our industry, support its future
and show our appreciation. We couldn’t
be more proud to extend the scope of our
partnership with Sheltair in this manner.”
By splitting the scholarship funds across
three key categories, Sheltair and Avfuel
seek to support advancement throughout
a broad scope of educational opportunities
within business aviation.
Funds in the learning to fly or advanced
pilot ratings category can be used for course
work or flight lessons for students pursuing
their private pilot certificate, adding a type
rating (multi-engine, commercial or others),
adding to their certificate with an ATP, completing
a bachelor’s degree, working toward
a CAM certification, or completing upset recovery
training.
