A product of its public education system, Marsha began her career as a general education teacher before switching to special education. Her administrative career began as a Supervisor of Special Education and continued as an Assistant Principal at Marie Curie Middle School. In 2002, she became Principal of P.S. 46 Queens. The Alley Pond School is a vibrant, multicultural, child-centered kindergarten through fi fth grade school, known for its quality education servicing all of its students, including general education, special education and English Language Learners. During her tenure, Mrs. Goldberg has expanded the arts, technology and sports education opportunities, as well as social and emotional GOLDBERG Principal, Public School 46 supports, for all students. Under her guidance, P.S. 46Q has been recognized as one of New York City’s best schools, consistently receiving an overall “A” rating on the Department of Education Progress Report. P.S. 46Q was cited as one of the 209 highly successful schools in New York and was featured in New York City’s Best Public Elementary Schools - A Parent’s Guide. Additionally, it has been showcased in a variety of local and international newspapers and news media. This year, United States Secretary of Education Arne Duncan recognized P.S. 46 Queens as a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School. Marsha Goldberg has been supported by her husband CARRIE Charles and her son Michael. WHITE Classifi ed Sales Manager Desales Media Group Carrie White, Classifi ed Sales Manager for The Tablet, has spent the past 25 years building a strong classifi eds business for the newspaper. While other print publications have seen decreased listings due to economic conditions and digital competition, Carrie has single-handedly kept the Tablet’s classifi ed section alive. Carrie’s main role in advertising sales has always been classifi ed section, which includes the classifi ed page, real estate page and service center page. In 2013 Carrie added signifi cant display advertising buys to her roster, while continuing to run the classifi ed business. For example, this fall she upsold Magnifi cent Remodeling, a long-term classifi eds customer, into multiples runs of full-page color ads, and consulted with them on the ad creative. The Tablet has a strong connection to the local businesses of Brooklyn and Queens, and is the only weekly Catholic newspaper in New York City. To support these audiences, Carrie has created special classifi ed sections such as a directory of Catholic Schools Week registration information, and the annual Parishes Holy Week Mass schedule. Carrie is a one-woman department. Along with selling classifi ed and display advertising, she handles data entry and design for all her pages. She uses The Tablet’s classifi ed system to track sales and customers and produces readable, attractive pages using Quark. Carrie has built a strong base of repeat customers, working with some small business owners and real estate fi rms over 15 years, helping them build their business. These customers appreciate her attention to detail and professionalism. The Tablet is a vibrant community resource for Catholics in Brooklyn and Queens. The classifi ed section is a strong contributor to the newspaper’s reputation and fi nancial stability, thanks to Carrie White’s efforts.
