■LIC PARTNERSHIP Join LIC Partnership to Celebrate #LICB2B at the 28th Annual Trade Show & Luncheon on 11/13 The Long Island City Partnership’s (LICP) marquee event of the year—the Annual LIC Trade Show & Luncheon—is the premier business-tobusiness trade show in Western Queens, featuring more than 100 exhibitors, local tastemakers and thousands of attendees. On Nov. 13, the event will take place at Astoria World Manor, showcasing the fabric of LIC with exhibitions from a wide range of local businesses and organizations, from food-and-beverage, to education and the arts. The Luncheon portion of the event will host more than 350 prominent business, government and community leaders for a keynote speech by U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer and an awards ceremony honoring Jamestown and the LIC YMCA. The LIC YMCA is this year’s recipient of LICP’s William D. Modell Community Service Award, which will be accepted by Executive Director Ebony Conley-Young, for its life-enhancing programming and community-based fundraising efforts. The Y serves the community through its three areas of focus: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. To date, the Y has delivered more than $54 million dollars in free programs to New Yorkers. Additionally, the LICP will honor Jamestown and its President Michael Phillips for the creative vision represented in the Falchi Building and elsewhere across the City. Under the ownership of Jamestown, the building has undergone a major, multi-million dollar capital improvement program, which included renovations to the façade, a new lobby and revitalized public spaces. Jamestown is applying its food-focused place-making experience to Falchi’s ground floor concourse, making it a gathering place for building tenants and for the surrounding neighborhood. Doughnut Plant, Juice Press, Stolle Bakery, and L’Arte del Gelato now all operate commissaries and retail shops at Falchi. The expanding food hall features diverse rotating food options that include Jamaican, Thai, Spanish-style tapas, Peruvian empanadas, paninis and more. With the goal of strengthening the community at Falchi, and positioning the building as a neighborhood hub, Falchi has hosted a number of events including art exhibits for local groups, and other community-sponsored events, making it a popular destination within Queens. A recently installed Citi Bike dock within the plaza at Falchi, as well as a weekday shuttle, now make it easier than ever for tenants and visitors to access Falchi. Sponsorship and registration for the Annual LIC Trade Show & Luncheon are open online at www.licpartnership.org/tradeshow. Discounts for exhibitors are available for early registration, as well as for LICP Members, non-profit organizations and food-and-beverage purveyors offering samples, now through Oct. 9.
