A JV to operate SWF Airport
Future Stewart Partners takes charge
AvPORTS under a new JV with
Groupe ADP called Future Stewart
Partners (FSP) has been selected
to operate New York Stewart
International Airport (SWF).
CEO Jorge Roberts and David-Olivier
Tarac, Managing Director
of ADP International Americas
jointly commented, “AvPORTS
and Groupe ADP are excited to
work with The Port Authority of
New York & New Jersey to elevate
NY Stewart International Airport
to a world-class airport that will
bring greater air travel options
and increased economic activity
to the region. This contract award
is another demonstration of Av-
PORTS’ success as an airport operator.
We have a successful history
of contract renewals because
our client-partners such as PANYNJ,
recognize our best-in-class
management and operations services.”
In a recent statement before
the this announcement, Port Authority
Executive Director Rick
Cotton said, “The strategic plan
builds on the Port Authority’s
commitment to modern facilities
and improved customer experience
and leverages Stewart’s ease
of access to New York City, as well
as Hudson Valley attractions such
as Woodbury Commons and Legoland,
opening next spring, that
are popular among U.S. and international
visitors. By working with
an internationally recognized operator,
the Port Authority will implement
a new, intense marketing
plan both in the U.S. and internationally,
and develop a new fi nancial
incentive program to attract
both domestic and international
airlines to serve the airport.”

Under the new ownership and
leadership FSP is revamping its
strategy to continue to maintain
their US market leadership. They
will do so while building on their
rich 92-year history (13 yrs. at
Stewart; 49 yrs. working with PANYNJ).
They are also partnering
with world-class airport operators
such as Groupe AdP to bring a diverse
perspective to its operations
as stated by the company.
Virgin’s “Barbie” dolls
Encourages STEM careers
Meet Pilot Barbie, Cabin Crew
Barbie and Engineer Barbie – the
newest Barbies on the block, set to
encourage young girls to consider
careers in aviation and inspire
them to believe anything is possible.
Virgin Atlantic has teamed up
with Barbie UK to create three
special edition dolls. It’s all part of
Barbie’s Dream Gap Project, which
was launched to tackle the fact that
girls as young as fi ve years old begin
to develop limiting self-beliefs
and doubt their full potential. The
Dream Gap Project is an on-going
initiative to level the playing fi eld
for girls globally and highlight role
models to show girls that they can
be anything they want to be.
Barbie has had more than 200
careers in her 60-year history, and
now three Virgin Atlantic careers
are joining the ranks. Current
statistics from the Women’s Engineering
Society indicate that only
12 per cent of the UK engineering
workforce is female and similar
statistics show that only 4.3 per
cent of UK pilots are women.
“We know that women are currently
underrepresented across a
number of careers within aviation.
We also know we can’t change this
position overnight. Therefore it’s
imperative we play the long-game,
highlighting to primary aged children
that any job role is open,”
Nikki Humphrey, SVP of People at
Virgin Atlantic, said. “Our partnership
with Barbie marks another
milestone in our commitment
to this. It’s astounding that
girls start believing they can’t follow
a certain career path from as
young as fi ve and it’s our ambition
we close this dream gap. By working
with Barbie, it allows us to
speak directly to our future generation
of aviation workers.
