Pentagon Hotel.” This intricate
and complex book tells a
story of a gutsy gun moll who
stumbles into The Pentagon
Hotel, an exclusively black
residence along with a missing
child crisis, after leaving
Prohibition-era Harlem.

Quiet Trivia and Comedy
Night — Quiet Events and
Astoria’s premiere gastropub
Katch Astoria team up to
combine the intellectual
comradery of trivia and the fun
lightheartedness of comedy.
There is no prerequisite
or special skill required to
have a ball. Upon arrival,
patrons will receive special
wireless headphones and can
participate in three rounds
of easy trivia. The trivia is led
by some of the city’s funniest
comedians, so there is never
a dull moment. At the end of
the night winners will receive
special prizes. This is a 21+
event.

Talavya — Talavya, an
Indian percussion ensemble,
performs at Flushing Town
Hall. This contemporary
classical Indian tabla will take
center stage as they are led by
skilled maestro Pandit Divyang
Vakil. The ensemble has mass
appeal due to its dynamic
take on the centuries-old art.
The group has performed
throughout the world, playing
with artists such as Mickey
Hart from The Grateful Dead,
Shakura S’Aida, Sidi Toure and
Cuban Fire.

Creek Cave Live — Creek
Cave Live has a night of double
feature comedy with some of
the best comics in New York
City. CCL showcases some of
the city’s greatest stand-up
talent with 12 acts featuring
comedians such as Aminah
Imani, Sydnee Washington,
Claire Parker, Leah Bonnema,
Steven Rogers and Lauren
Davis. This week’s CLV
comedians have appeared
on Wine Before Nine Podcast,
MTV, VH1, Manhattan Comedy
Festival and Sirius XM.

Winter Tree Session —
Children of all ages are
welcome to join Queens
Botanical Garden to learn more
about trees. This includes fun
and educational activities that
explore topics including parts
of trees and their functions.
The one-hour event will also
give visitors a chance to utilize
parts of trees to make crafts to
take home. Finally, the session
will end with a nature walk
through the garden’s Pinetum,
a scientifi c collection of living
coniferous trees.
