102ND PRECINCT
Armed invaders hit Richmond Hill apartment
RICHMOND HILL — Detectives are
asking for the public’s help in finding
two armed men who are allegedly
responsible for a violent home invasion
in Richmond Hill last week.
Law enforcement sources said
the caper took place Jan. 16 at about
2:10 p.m. in the area of Myrtle and
Hillside Avenues.
According to police, a 32-yearold
woman was heading out of her
residence when the two unidentified
male suspects approached her.
One of the crooks displayed a
firearm and forced her back inside
the home, where they also confronted
a 34-year-old victim, police said.
According to authorities, the
home invaders tied up both victims.
During that process, one of the
suspects pistol-whipped the 32-yearold
woman in the head, causing
a bruise. After restraining the
victims, police said the bandits
searched the residence, stole $500 in
cash and fled the scene on foot in an
unknown direction.
Officers from the 102nd Precinct
responded to the scene. EMS units also
responded to the home, but the injured
woman refused medical attention.
On Jan. 19, the NYPD
released video footage of the two
perpetrators. Cops described one of
the suspects as a black man in his
20s or 30s, standing 6 feet, 4 inches
tall and weighing 260 pounds. He
was last seen wearing a gray hooded
sweatshirt, a dark jacket and blue
pants.
Police described his partner as
a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s,
standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and
weighing 160 pounds, who was last seen
wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a
dark jacket and gray pants.
