 have  been  approved  
 for  a  technology  
 grant  through  
 AlgebraForAll.  They  
 will all soon be receiving  
 a  Document  
 Camera or a SWIVL  
 Camera to use in their  
 classrooms.

 Teachers from the Pan American International High School (PAIHS) sit and have  
 lunch together while evaluating student portfolios as part of Teacher Appreciation Day.

 Van Buren checks out Seton Hall 
 Martin Van Buren High School PTA President, Ms. Cecilia Heyward, PTA secretary, 
   Mrs.  Shireen  Bhoopsingh  and PTA treasure,  Mrs.  Bibi  Sabrina  Hassan worked  
 hard to insure that students were given the opportunity to see what college life could  
 be like for them by taking them on tours at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Seton  
 Hall University. 
 ‘SOAR’-ing to mental fitness in Queens 
 The S.O.A.R., standing for Student Opportunities for Achievement and Readiness, is  
 a mental health counseling program offered through the Central Queens services. The  
 goal of the program is to give students a safe place and an adult in the building who  
 they feel comfortable with. Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village is among  
 the participating schools.
