Note the “family entrance” at left, which resembles a telephone booth. This photo was taken around 1912, and in those days, ladies never entered a saloon through the barroom. Cozy Corner with its current owner, Bob Leonard, still serves the community. Keeping up with tradition it has become more than your neighborhood bar. Cozy Corner serves lunch and dinner and on occasion has entertainment. The once-popular establishment was located at Onderdonk Avenue and Madison Street, on the site of a former knitting mill. For the breweries during the period following Prohibition, Kioodles was regarded as the largest beer-drop in Ridgewood and Glendale. We are a nonsectarian cemetery with a Methodist heritage.. In 1875 a swampy section of the cemetery was sold to a Manhattan synagogue.. Then,, in 1897, Linden Hill Cemetery was redesigned and tte main entrance was moved from Grandview Avenue ((PoplarLane)) to the opposite end of the cemetery,namely Woodward Avenue. The cemetery offiice was built at this location, and is still standing at Woodward and Dekalb Avenues. Today, Linden Hill Cemetery, as it is commonly known, still remains a nonsectarian cemetery with a Methodist heritage. e garden-type settings andthe rolling hillsides are truly a wonder to the eye, as we are blessedwith the New York City skyline as our backdrop.
