10 TIMES • may 12, 2016 FOR BREAKING NEWS VISIT www.qns.com In 1997 Pat Bonavita established Cypress Motors of Ridgewood. The piece of property was bought from Pat Nam who originally ran a used car lot there from 1948. Over the years Pat Bonavita has changed the direction of the dealership. They offer a wide variety of reliable well maintained pre-owned vehicles. Specializing in auto loan financing they work with everybody to be able to purchase a vehicle. SSI, SSD Good Credit, Bad Credit or even No Credit. They work with real banks on a sub-prime financing, reported to the credit bureaus which rebuilds or establishes credit in a short time. If you are looking for a affordable quality vehicle they will find it for you and get your financing needs approved. Efficiently serving the Ridgewood and the surrounding communities for almost 20 years Glendale Maspeth United Methodist Church 66th Place and Central Avenue Serving the community for over 100 years… It all began in 1912…when the Atlantic Conference of the Evangelical Church decided to “take up Glendale as a Mission field.” The church met in a storefront until 1915 when a portable chapel was built at the current site. In January 1928, a storm destroyed the chapel. Children of the Sunday School went around the neighborhood and raised money by "selling bricks for the new building at 10 cents each" and a new brick church (our current building) was completed and dedicated on May 12, 1929. During our history, the name has changed several times as mergers occurred. The most notable merger occurred in 2010 when we merged with the Maspeth UMC after their church tragically burnt down. The Maspeth members have brought their talents and gifts which greatly strengthened the vibrant ministry of Glendale and together we have become a vital church community. Since the beginning, we have been a "can do" church family. Our volunteers work tirelessly, serving the community through our outreach events: Rummage sales, Pancake Breakfasts, Chinese Auctions, Fairs, etc. For more than a century, our church has been a shining witness to the saving power of Jesus Christ. Our traditional Sunday Morning Service is lively and Spiritfilled.
