WWW.QNS.COM RIDGEWOOD TIMES APRIL 13, 2017 17 Celebrating spring at Ridgewood street fair Guests of all ages enjoyed an awesome spring afternoon of food, entertainment and shopping during the spring street fair on Sunday, April 9, hosted by the Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District and the Ridgewood Local Development Corporation. The festival took place along Myrtle Avenue from Fresh Pond Road to Wyckoff Avenue. The Ridgewood Times and Times Newsweekly were among the event sponsors. Photos by Dean Moses Happy feet danced the day away at Maspeth’s Polish music fest From the looks of things, everyone had a barrel of fun during the Polish Music Festival held at the Knockdown Center in Maspeth on Sunday, April 9. The Grammy Award-winning Jimmy Sturr Polka Orchestra delighted the audience with their rendition of polka classics. Bill Shibilski, a longtime polka promoter, served as the master of ceremonies. The Juniper Park Civic Association, Maspeth Federal Savings Bank and the Newtown Historical Society co-sponsored the event.
