Corona infant rescued in one of three fires across Queens Fire officials rescued a baby from a blaze at a Corona home — which was one of three fires that occurred throughout the borough on Nov. 17. The 3-week-old boy was reportedly taken out of a house at 34-40 106th St. after the FDNY received a call about a fire at about 9:30 p.m. The blaze was under control an hour later and the child was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. Throughout the night residents voiced their concerns via social media in response to tweets of the fire from the 112th Precinct. The precinct responded through Twitter saying, “We’re aware of the recent rash of residential fires in #ForestHills We’re coordinating with #FDNY and other investigative authorities.” Just a week ago another home under construction in Forest Hills was also consumed by a fire, which required about 140 fire personnel at the scene to battle the three-alarm blaze.
